Hitachi is the third manufacturer to be certified for FreeviewPlus, with the new launch into market of the Hitachi VC326000 TV. FreeviewPlus is the new TV service that provides access to more content and services from the Freeview networks.

Liz Ross, CEO of Freeview, said: “We’re thrilled that Hitachi has joined Sony and LG to offer

consumers FreeviewPlus-certified receivers – providing the market with greater choice and access

to the FreeviewPlus’s service.

“FreeviewPlus has been developed to provide Australians with the best free-to-air TV experience

in the world.” Ross added.

Launched last September, FreeviewPlus is a world-first TV service for Australia, incorporating the

most advanced, user-friendly free-to-air EPG experience yet seen.

FreeviewPlus delivers the Freeview networks’ Catch Up services from one place on TV screens

for the first time. Access to Catch Up and other services is easy, with viewers simply using the

coloured buttons on their remote.

Ziad Yaacoub, product and sales manager of Tempo Australia said: “Tempo Australia is excited to

bring the Hitachi VC326000 TV to market as a FreeviewPlus certified receiver. We strive to

deliver the ultimate TV viewing experience, and know that this now means providing access to

FreeviewPlus.”
