GQ Australia Announces Gentlemen’s Ball To Celebrate 20 Year Anniversary

News Prestige Network’s editorial director of GQ Australia, Vogue Australia and Vogue Living Edwina McCann today announced the inaugural GQ Gentlemen’s Ball launching as part of GQ Australia’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

Presented in partnership with Penfolds Max’s, the event will be held at The Ormond Collective in Melbourne on Saturday 28 April.

McCann said: “GQ uses its authority and influence to shine a light on men passionate about making a positive change in the world. We’re delighted to partner with Penfolds Max’s for the inaugural GQ Gentlemen’s Ball as we celebrate those at the top of their fields, and the next generation of GQ gentlemen.”

Special guests speaking at the GQ Gentlemen’s Ball will include: founder Earth Hour and founding CEO Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef Andy Ridley, Olympic and Commonwealth Games gold medallist swimmer Mack Horton, Ex-Infinitas designer Lukas Vincent, founder and CEO of The Entourage Jack Delosa as well as actors Teresa Palmer and Mark Webber with event host Hamish Macdonald.

The March/April issue of GQ Australia saw the launch of the GQ Initiative, a new section in the magazine profiling inspiring individuals and their stories, from the arts and entertainment to sport, philanthropy and business.

GQ Australia editor Mike Christensen said: “As we celebrate our 20th anniversary this year, and with everything that is going on in the world at the moment, it is important to GQ that we champion the kinds of positive role models Australian men need right now. The GQ Gentlemen’s Ball and GQ Initiative are not about telling men who they need to be, but inspiring them to be the best versions of themselves.”

Penfolds regional marketing director Clive Coleman said: “Penfolds Max’s range is inspired by Penfolds first Chief Winemaker Max Schubert, who, at 33, became the youngest chief winemaker in Penfolds history. Max dared to revolutionise Australian winemaking and today we celebrate his bold and innovative spirit through the Max’s range. We are delighted to be partnering with GQ Australia to celebrate the next generation of change makers and visionaries who, like Max, have tenacity and conviction to challenge convention and pioneer for positive change.”

BMW, Harrolds and Paco Rabanne are also on board as supporting partners of the event.
