Virgin Australia has announced the appointment of Michael Nearhos as its new marketing director.

Nearhos has more than 20 years’ experience in senior marketing roles at a range of organisations.

Most recently, Nearhos was the general manager of brand experience at NAB before his role was made redundant as part of a restructure of the bank’s marketing department.

“Virgin Australia is one of the most well respected and loved brands, and I look forward to having Michael on board to support our marketing efforts,” she said.

“Michael has extensive experience with implementing a range of major brand and marketing initiatives, and generating significant results across traditional and digital channels.”

Commenting on his appointment, Nearhos said: “Virgin Australia is an exciting and innovative brand, and I can’t wait to work with the team and continue to deliver great results for the business.”
