Independent creative communications agency Deepend and publishing company Hardie Grant have won the award for best consumer-facing website at the Bookseller’s Futurebook Innovation Awards.

The best publisher website in the awards was divided into two this year, with Hardie Grant’s Cooked website winning best consumer-facing site.

Judge Shane Richmond said Cooked had “an inviting and modern design that truly does justice to the wealth of content available”. Hardie Grant launched the recipe subscription website in December 2013.

Earlier in the month, Deepend and Hardie Grant also won Sitecore’s Digital Innovator Award.

Cooked.com.au allows users to access an ever-growing library of complete cookbooks by some of the best chefs and authors in the business. You can browse a book in the way it was published but on any device. You can take your cookbook collection on holiday, to a friend’s house or just to the supermarket. Cooked preserves the emotional impact and design intent of the physical cookbook, but in super-contemporary digital form.

Deepend managing director Kath Blackham says, “Deepend are absolutely ecstatic to be recognised for our work on Cooked.com.au, especially on an international stage. Congratulations to the entire team at Hardie Grant and Deepend.”
