Deadpool’s Latest Witty Marketing Stunt Takes Potshot At Australia & Eurovision

You have to hand it to Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds – he’s definitely marketing the hell out of the flick and that red latex costume ahead of Thursday’s global release of the second instalment.

As reported on B&T yesterday, Reynolds even teamed-up with none other than David Beckham for a new witty trailer to promote the film’s launch.

Over the weekend, Reynolds released a YouTube clip pleading with Eurovision Song Contest organisers to allow his home nation of Canada to be admitted into the annual glam eisteddfod.

Reynolds’ reasonings was that if a country like Australia is allowed to compete in Eurovision then why not Canada. “And don’t give me that crap about Canada not being part of the European family. You let in Australia, and they’re barely on the planet,” he says in the mock video.

Australia’s 2018 Eurovision entrant Jessica Mauboy, who finished 20th out of 26th on Sunday’s Eurovision grand final, responded to Reynolds on Twitter with her own video response, challenging an Australian saltwater crocodile to battle Reynolds’ sleeping moose.
