Campaign: Real Men At Work Wear Pink

Male-focused PR agency Men at Work has put their money where their mouth is with their own fundraising goal for the Real Men Wear Pink Campaign.

The agency was approached by NBCF to help promote the campaign which spurred them to personally get involved.

‘The boys’ at Men at Work are wearing bright pink clothing, and encouraging other blokes to do the same, for NBCF Foundation’s male-targeted fundraising campaign that runs throughout the year.

Company director, Adam Mumford, explained it’s a great chance to have some fun while also raising much-needed funds for a worthy cause.

“We all like to have a laugh but at the end of the day it’s all about helping National Breast Cancer Foundation reach their goal of zero deaths from breast cancer by 2030,” he said.

Pink suits and ties, novelty hats, Hawaiian dresses and even the much-feared pink budgey smugglers will be fair game at the agency that focuses on ‘red-blooded’ male products and services.

“If we can get more macho-men wearing pink to work each day in the name of breast cancer research then we’ll go a long way to beating the disease,” Mumford added.

According to NBCF CEO, Carole Renouf, men as partners, fathers, brothers or friends are often overlooked in the breast cancer experience.

“The problem is that men are incredibly hard to reach and reluctant to talk about their journey, their experience of being thrown into the caring role and their feelings about not being able to fix it,” said Renouf. “Real Men Wear Pink is about getting men to ‘pink-up’ and actively do something to help change the future of breast cancer,” she said.

“It can be as simple as registering at realmenwearpink.org.au and wearing a pair of pink business socks, don a pink tie for the day or stepping it up and getting around town in a pink tuxedo. Challenge yourself, your mates, get creative, the choice is yours” said Renouf.
