Campaign: Australia’s Largest Snow Globe

Sydney residents can experience snow this Christmas inside Australia’s largest snow globe at shopping complex Market City.

The life-size snow globe, measuring 8.5 meters in diameter, took four weeks to build with 10 full-time workers.

Market City centre manager, David Yam, said the launch of Market City’s snow globe marked the first time it had snowed in Sydney’s CBD in almost 200 years.

“Nothing of this size and scale has been done in Sydney before and the reaction from our shoppers so far has been fantastic,” said Yam.

“Our opening weekend saw thousands of shoppers step inside the snow globe to experience the snow with their family and friends.

“The snow is actually a bio-degradable soap which is passed through a snow machine to create a snow like foam, often used in movies. Three industrial-size air conditioners blow the snow around to make it look like the globe is being shaken.”

The snow globe was constructed by Fabric Structure Systems and the set was constructed by Bootleg Design

Shoppers can share their experience inside the snow globe using the hashtag #mcsnowglobe for their chance to win a $1,000 shopping voucher.
