Ben & Jerry’s Bans Two Scoops Of The Same Flavour In Same Sex Marriage Protest

Thinking of having two scoops of your favourite Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream today? Well, it’s officially become an icy treat no-no after the company banned the sale of two scoops of the same flavour until Australia legalises gay marriage.

The new promotion, titled ‘Love comes in all flavours’, kicked off in all the company’s Australian outlets yesterday.

In a statement, the company said: “Imagine heading down to your local Scoop Shop to order your favourite two scoops of Cookie Dough in a waffle cone. But you find out you are not allowed… you’d be furious! This doesn’t even begin to compare to how furious you would be if you were told you were not allowed to marry the person you love.40BC4DA200000578-0-image-m-6_1495619581508

“So we are banning two scoops of the same flavour and encouraging our fans to contact their MPs to tell them that the time has come- make same sex marriage legal! Love comes in all flavours!” the statement read.

Ben and Jerry’s have also put boxes in all 26 of their Aussies stores where customers can grab a specially made postcard and write to their member of parliament asking them to support marriage equality.
