“Back To The Shop”: Airline Suffers Major Branding Fail By Misspelling Its Own Name

Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific has been forced to take one of its planes back to the painters after becoming aware of an embarrassing typo on its fuselage.

A number of travellers pointed out the misspelling at Hong Kong International Airport and shared photos of the plane, which was branded “Cathay Paciic” (without the f), on Facebook.

The pics were soon picked up by Cathay Pacific, which owned up to the mistake by sharing them out on its own social media channels and telling followers that the airline was sending the plane “back to the shop”.

However, that didn’t stop people from poking fun at the hilarious typo.
