Mango Communications Announces String Of New Hires

Mango Communications has made a number of new hires and promotions to support the agency’s continued growth.

Angela McCann joins as group business director to lead the McDonald’s account. McCann’s experience includes leading PR teams on accounts such as Westfield, David Jones and IKEA.

Mango Communications managing director, Tabitha Fairbairn said: “Ange and I have worked together previously, and I’m thrilled she’s joined Mango.

“She is an exceptional operator with a huge amount of experience in leading highly effective, complex pieces of business and it’s wonderful to have someone of her calibre join the agency.”

McCann said: “I spent time at Mango back in 2011 and I’m thrilled to be back.

“The culture and expertise within the Mango team is extremely strong, and I’m excited to be working with the team on some of the most impactful campaigns in this market.”

Sophie Robert (featured image) commences as senior sponsorship manager.

Robert joins from Optus where she has been managing consumer campaigns for key partnerships including Commonwealth Games and Swimming Australia.

Prior to Optus, Sophie held experiential roles at Apple, OzHarvest and Lululemon.

Fairbairn said: “Sophie is a wonderful, talented addition to our team. She brings with her excellent credentials in sports marketing, experiential and sponsorship.”

Ben Handberg has been promoted to the role of Head of Consumer.

Fairbarn added: “Ben’s ability to think creatively through a PR lens is exceptional.

“His reputation for helping drive some of the best work that is coming out of the group is testament to his performance and his promotion recognition of that.

“There have been a further four promotions during the first quarter of the year.”

Fairbarn concluded: “Mango has had a sustained period of growth and the team continues to deliver brilliant work.

“New clients and projects have seen the need for us to make these key new hires.”
