Get ready to cringe, Manchester United players have joined forces with 20th Century Fox, the Official Feature Film Partner of Man Utd, Hollywood actors Jeff Goldblum and Angelababy to help promote Independence Day Resurgence.
The 85-second clip features some of the club’s biggest players- Captain Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata, Ashley Young, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind. This isn’t the first time the Premier League giants have done a movie tie-in with 20th Century Fox. Earlier this year Man Utd starred in a X-Men Apocalypse film, it was equally pretty awkward.
The crossover has been lampooned on social media, because let’s be honest- it’s pretty terrible.
@ManUtd whoever signed this off needs firing and lowering into an active volcano.
