[B&T warns that this story deals with content that some readers may find distressing] A man has died during a live TV report while complaining about the hardships of living in Iraq.
The man had reportedly gone to Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital in Baghdad for an unspecified ailment.
Coincidentally, a TV crew from Alsumaria TV happened to be filming at the hospital on an unrelated story.
The crew interviewed the unidentified man who said of life in Iraq, “There are no jobs, people are tired. How can I be quiet?” before suffering a major heart attack and dying while the cameras rolled.
The hospital has since distanced itself from the man’s death, saying he had not been treated by a doctor before speaking to reporters.
“The man tried to convey his suffering to officials through the TV. Minutes later, he collapsed and suffered a heart attack that led to his immediate death,” the hospital said in a statement.
“He was not checked by any doctor before his talk to the TV station,” it added.
