Calling all budding creatives in the Asia Pacific! The Cairns Hatchlings, presented by Yahoo, is here to nurture fresh talent, and it’s ready to sink its teeth into the future of advertising, marketing, and media.

Think you’ve got what it takes to make a splash? This is your chance to prove it!

Enter the Cairns Hatchlings now!

So why should you enter?

The Cairns Hatchlings isn’t just about snapping up a trophy—it’s about showcasing your creativity in the wild. Compete across seven categories, including Audio, Design, Digital, Marketing (sponsored by Boomtown), Media (sponsored by Yahoo!), PR, and Video, and see if you’ve got the bite to impress the top dogs (or crocs).

Here’s the catch (and it’s a big one): finalists will win a FREE trip to the Cairns Crocodiles Festival, a three-day extravaganza from May 13–15, 2025. You’ll not only compete but bask in the sun-drenched glory of Cairns, surrounded by the industry’s biggest fish (or should we say crocs?).

The Cairns Crocodiles Festival is where creativity comes to life in a sun-soaked paradise where the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest collide. Between inspiring speakers, unforgettable networking, and the vibrant setting of Cairns, it’s a feast for your creative spirit.

Creativity doesn’t discriminate—it’s about who’s got the biggest ideas and sharpest instincts. Whether you’re a marketing maestro, PR prodigy, or digital dynamo, the Cairns Hatchlings is your chance to rise from the murky waters and become a real industry predator.

The Hatchlings is a competitive program designed to showcase emerging talent within the advertising, marketing and media sectors.

Participants will compete across seven categories representing various industry disciplines. Open to all ages and a diverse range of backgrounds, with three to eight years of media experience in the Asia Pacific region, the program emphasises the belief that true talent and creativity transcends age and background.

Being a Hatchling provides participants with meaningful recognition, helping them unlock new opportunities for mentorship and career advancement. The initiative goes beyond traditional awards by serving as a launchpad for future growth and development within the industry.

Finalists will:

  • Take on a 24-hour live brief challenge in Cairns, creating jaw-dropping work for a panel of industry leaders.
  • Attend Masterclasses with advertising’s sharpest minds.
  • Gain life-changing exposure to mentors and big-name brands.
  • Make waves with real-world pro-bono work.

And did we mention you’ll be flown to Cairns for free? That’s right; you’ll travel to the lush tropics for a front-row seat to see all the action of the Cairns Crocodiles Festival.
