It appears bizarre love triangles and same-sex relationships are the order of The Bachelor globally, after the Vietnam franchise threw up one of the stranger plot twists over the weekend.

Two female contestants Minh Thu and Truc Nhu shocked just about everyone including the show’s Bachelor, Nguyen Quoc Trung, when they used the rose-giving ceremony to leave the competition – together!

Thu bagan by telling Bachie Trung she’d entered the “competition to find love and I’ve found that love for myself, but it isn’t with you.” She then turned to fellow bachelorette Nhu and said: “Come home with me. Come home with me” before the two women departed together.

Check out the very romantic, if slightly curveball scene below:

Not that it had a fairytale ending! Moments after filming, Truc Nhu apparently had second thoughts about her affections for Thu and re-entered the house to once again vie for Trung’s rose and affection.

“After talking to Trung, I’ve changed my mind to accept this rose and continue this journey,” Nhu said.

And judging by the global social media response, Bachelor fans everywhere were huge supporters of the show’s spicy twist. Check out some of the choicest comments below:
