One shot. One chance. A one in a million opportunity. Macquarie Media have teamed up with Channel Seven’s The Wall to launch a promotion for the Emirates Australian Open.
To celebrate the launch of The Wall, six lucky Macquarie Media listeners will be selected to take their shot at $1 million during the Emirates Australian Open at the Australian Golf Club on Thursday 23 November.
Macqaurie’s 2GB, 4BC and 3AW listeners are invited to enter The Million Dollar Hole in One competition at 2GB.com, 4BC.com.au and 3AW.com.au until Wednesday 15 November.
The mechanics are simple: go online to select the presenter they want to play for, and explaining why in 50 words or less, they could be given the chance to become a millionaire.
Alan Jones, Ray Hadley, Chris Smith, Ben Fordham, Ross Greenwood and Steve Price will select a finalist each to represent them at The Million Dollar Hole in One.
On the morning of Thursday 23 November, The Alan Jones Breakfast Show will broadcast live from the opening day of the Emirates Australian Open at the Australian Golf Club at Rosebery.
The Million Dollar Hole in One competition will take place that morning between 7am and 8am on the 18th hole, at a par-three distance from the green.
All six contestants will be given one shot to hit a hole in one. If someone gets the ball in, they walk away a millionaire.
Adam Lang, chief operating officer at Macquarie Media, said: “The competition demonstrates the perfect synergy between golf, Channel Seven’s brand new million dollar game show, The Wall, and Macquarie Media, and exhibits the opportunities achievable when sport and industry come together in spirit of the viewer and listener.”
Ana Bacic, network head of marketing at Seven, said: “This is an exciting celebration of sport and entertainment engaging our shared audience between Macquarie Media and the Seven Network.”
