Macca’s Consolidates Creative Account, Moving Digital And Social From VMLY&R To DDB Sydney

Fast-food giant McDonald’s has consolidated its creative account, moving its digital and social account from VMLY&R into DDB Sydney, which does McDonald’s creative.

In a statement to B&T, a McDonald’s spokesperson said: “After reviewing the support we require from our external partners, we’ve made the decision to consolidate our creative and social agency support; expanding DDB’s remit to include the management of our social channels.

“We enjoyed a productive relationship with VMLY&R and thank them for the work they delivered during their partnership with us.”

A VMLY&R spokesperson said: “VMLY&R confirms that McDonald’s will shift their social media work from the agency in 2020. We remain on their roster of agencies for special projects across CX, technology and innovation.”

DDB Sydney MD Priya Patel told B&T: “We are thrilled to be expanding our relationship with McDonald’s. It’s a testament to the strength of our 48-year partnership and DDB’s growing social capability.

“We look forward to this next phase in our story together.”

DDB Sydney has been in charge of McDonald’s creative for nearly 50 years.
