Real estate agents are known for being smooth talkers with the ability to sell ice to an Eskimo, as the adage goes.
With sometimes less than honest tactics to earn a sale, a Central Coast real estate agent has bucked the trend and decided for a brutally honest approach, and it appears to have paid off.
His exceptionally honest ad for a “mouldy” North Gosford property completely wrecked by one too many raging parties has surprisingly led to an influx of inquiries.
In the ad that has now gone viral, the real estate agent says: “Looking to move straight in? Then this one isn’t for you.
“The current owners … have kindly commenced the renovation process starting with the removal of the gyprock walls – one punch at a time!”
The main bedroom is spruiked as a “light-filled with an open plan ensuite (currently missing a shower screen) and a walk-in robe, where the screen has been conveniently placed after falling off”, while the bathroom “already has the final touch with a new roll of toilet paper placed on the holder, however unfortunately all the preceding steps still need to be done”.
The hilarious ad for the property, which goes to market this Saturday, has led to plenty of interest online – it was the most viewed listing on realestate.com.au last week.
Gittoes East Gosford agent Matt Gravas told The Daily Telegraph earlier this week: “Lots of buyers are keen to do a mini-reno on the property, while a few are looking at gutting it completely”.
“First homebuyers have really come back into the market of late, and we are being inundated with requests.”
