Klick Communications Appointed PR Agency For Tourism Tropical North Queensland

Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) has appointed travel and tourism agency Klick Communications to manage its consumer marketing, public relations and visitor communication activity in the Australian market.

TTNQ chief executive officer Pip Close said Klick Communications would begin working this month with TTNQ and Tropical North Queensland tourism operators to increase awareness of the destination with Australia’s fastest growing traveller demographics.

“Travellers are increasingly looking to travel publications both online and through traditional media channels to make holiday choices before booking online,” she said.

“To position Tropical North Queensland as a must-do destination we need to increase our destination’s story telling opportunities in the southern states through mainstream media, online media and key influencers.

“The focus will be on driving positive messaging about the Great Barrier Reef, showcasing the lifestyle of Cairns and encouraging visitors to disperse throughout a very diverse region.”

Founder and director of Klick Communications Kim McKay said TTNQ resonated perfectly with Klick, the company’s approach and its core values.

“We offer a collective commitment to bring TTNQ insight-led strategies into integrated communication solutions,” she said.

“It’s an exciting scope of work and we are thrilled with the partnership.”

TTNQ further bolsters Klick’s strength and achievements in travel through an extensive partner portfolio in Australia and the US including Santa Monica Tourism, Positively Wellington Tourism, Travel Alberta, Mudgee Region Tourism, The Modern Honolulu, Hilton Sydney, Contiki, Havaianas, Luxottica (Sunglass Hut), Kona Brewing Company and Taylors Wines.

More than 2.3 million visitors travel to Tropical North Queensland each year, a diverse region from Cardwell in the south, to Cape York and the Torres Strait Islands in the north and inland to the Gulf Savannah.
