JWT’s Mirum Australia Announces Two Key Leadership Hires

Mirum Australia, part of the J. Walter Thompson network, has announced two key leadership appointments in its newly opened Sydney office.

Evan Crompton (right in photo) has been appointed service design director with Rebecca Luiters (left) taking on the role of delivery experience director.

Both Crompton and Luiters join Mirum’s senior management team and report directly to managing director Claire van Heyningen (centre of photo).

The appointments of Luiters and Crompton in the newly created roles support a strong new business client roster since Mirum launched its first Australian office in Sydney last month.

Claire Van Heyningen said the new appointments also signalled a continued commitment for Mirum to focus on serving the local market with best-in-class and effective ‘deep digital’ work and in order to fulfil this commitment the business must attract the best talent in the market.

“Evan and Bec bring a mountain of talent, knowledge and energy to the Sydney office. They’re seriously experienced digital specialists and they’ll be part of a potent leadership team in a time of rapidly changing client needs,” said Van Heyningen.

With more than a decade of experience across digital performance measurement, analytics and strategy plus digital production, for some of Australia’s leading brands, Crompton was previously user experience and service design consultant at Aptor Digital. His immediate remit at Mirum will be to spearhead the experience design of digital products and services demanded by the agency’s clients plus lead the team to create the best products and services possible.

Crompton said of his new role: “For businesses to compete on the global stage they must move away from traditional content publishing or IT procurement models and focus on seamless, end-to-end-delivery of web/online as a service.  This is where my passion lies and I can’t wait to bring this skillset to Mirum and to solve our clients’ business problems.”

Crompton commenced his new role in July and Luiters joined the agency earlier this year but stepped into her Delivery Experience Director role in July.

A digital native with more than 10 years of digital project delivery experience, Luiters has held team-lead roles with big name agencies including MRM/McCann, Adcorp, Wunderman and Draft FCB.  Most recently a senior digital producer contracting at The Works, Luiters also brings a wealth of experience gained running the operations of a specialist experience design agency.

Luiters said: “It’s competitive out there and the interactions our clients and staff experience when working on a project is just as important as the output itself.  My aim is to continue to build on our service delivery processes and capabilities and ensure we’re tough on the work but kind to each other. It’s a great time to be joining the Mirum team and I am excited about what the future holds.”
