Julie Snook Bites Back: “There’s More To Me Than Just A Jacket”

If there was a heroine from January’s now infamous “Jacketgate” disaster it had to be Nine reporter Julie Snook (left in photo).

Snook, who’s been lying low since the incident went global back in mid-January, was the star of the catty exchange between her and Amber Sherlock when the two were filmed off-air fighting over a jacket when everyone on the panel appeared in matching white. Relive the horror below:

However, Snook has told Nine’s women’s site 9Honey that she doesn’t want the incident to define her career.

“There’s more to me than just a jacket,” the 29-year-old said before revealing she’d “laughed off” the incident.

“It’s been a big learning curve for me. It’s shown me both the good and the bad in people and shown just how much we can really come together. I’ve had a lot of support here at Nine,” she said.

“At the end of the day you just have to laugh it off, it was such a rare situation.”

Snook said she didn’t bear a grudge against her attacker, Sherlock. “We are all able to make a joke about it here, everyone has a great sense of humour,” she said.

“Unfortunately, we don’t always get judged on what we say,” she added.

“People have this impression that working in TV is about the hair and the makeup, what we’re wearing and how we look.

“People don’t tend to realise it’s not that glamorous when you’re sitting outside a courthouse for six hours every day.” she said.
