Journo Incorrectly Believes She Has Won Millions & Quits Job Live On Air

Spanish Journalist, Natalie Escudero quit her job live on-air when she discovered she’d won millions only to find out – that she’d merely won thousands.

We’ve all dreamed about winning millions, quitting our jobs and moving to an island and sipping cocktails, for Escudero that dream became a reality in 2019, well for a few moments!

According to The Sun, she was covering Spain’s biggest Christmas lottery draw, when she discovered she was a winner!

At the time Esudero worked for RTVE, a Spanish pay television channel.

Her number gets called and based on Escudero’s reaction it seems like she thought she’d just become a millionaire – what a girl boss move!

Footage shows her jumping around, crying and clinging onto her winning ticket. The Sun reported she can even be heard saying, “I’m not coming to work tomorrow,” – I can’t speak Spanish, so I remain confused but she did seem over the moon!

Now did she mean, she wasn’t coming to work tomorrow as in she was chucking a sickie or did she mean it like she was quitting forever? well, that could be debated forever!

The crowd is losing their minds and chanting and it’s all just very intense and exciting – like a 21st birthday party on steroids.

Except later Escudero discovered she hadn’t won millions, just thousands, her winning ticket meant she was sharing the grand prize with many – meaning her winnings were in the thousands, exciting but not exactly jumping up and down exciting.

The Standard reported that she apologised on Twitter and has assumedly continued her life working 9-5.

Still, the footage lives on forever!
