Journo Confronts Councillor Over “Sexually Offensive Joke”

A New Zealand journalist has called out a local councillor for sending her a “grossly inappropriate” photo and then trying to pass it off as “silly”.

Angela Cuming took to Twitter yesterday to share a photo that she claims was sent to her by Hamilton City councillor Mark Bunting the same day as the council axed the building of any new playgrounds for the next 10 years.

Cuming said she hadn’t talked to Councillor Bunting for some time, and the only communication between them was in relation to her campaign to save the playground, according to ABC News.

Unsurprisingly, Twitter erupted in support for Cuming, and Bunting quickly apologised with a comment on Cuming’s original tweet, passing his actions off as “silly”.

Bunting then followed up with a tweet of is own, but Cuming wasn’t having a bar of it.
