Medium Rare, Australia’s leading content marketing agency,  has created a new role leading the management and relationship of Qantas Media Group (Airways, Frequent Flyer Program and Red Planet data).  This is a critical role responsible for the development and implementation of Qantas marketing content campaigns and Platinum One events.

You should have a minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with either a content publisher, brand, or agency working in account service, marketing with an in-depth understanding of client production management and events experience.

The Qantas Marketing Senior Partnerships Manager is responsible for driving new long-term partnership outcomes, increasing current commercial relationships, developing, planning and coordinating strategic Qantas projects end to end.  You will work across editorial, design and video to deliver campaigns to budget. 

You will work and support the Head of Rare Creative on account management tasks, Platinum One event implementation and actively participate in client meetings and manage any strategy documentation related to client projects. You will work with the Medium Rare research and digital implementation team to provide content research, performance measurement and other data-driven results post-campaign.

Key professional skills required for this role:

  • Very proficient with client relations; experience gained over at least five years of dealing directly with clients at any level including attending and participating in meetings and presentations, taking and interrogating client briefs to ensure they are comprehensive, managing client feedback, coordinating the day to day of various accounts ensuring all campaigns/projects are managed and delivered on time, high quality and to budget 
  • Ability to write a brief and manage internal and external teams including creatives and specialist teams of designers, content makers, digital strategists, video producers and talent agents
  • Proficient with developing commercial strategies; an emerging ability to draw on a range of data sources to come to conclusions and present them, with their evidence, in written form (e.g. commercial strategies, research reports, performance reports, PIRs) and at meeting presentations.
  • Somewhat proficient with SEO; some understanding of key SEO concepts and tools like Google Trends and SEMRush and how to apply these concepts and tools to inform commercial strategies and optimise digital content
  • High understanding of content, social, video and digital marketing best-practice; an emerging understanding of what makes for good VS bad content and digital marketing along with an awareness of the kinds of sources to go to for best-practice inspiration or education
  • Build and foster outstanding relationships with clients, partners/third parties and internal staff members and contribute to an agency culture that fosters high performing teams with trust, respect and accountability
  • Excellent time management skills, being able to prioritise, meet deadlines and ensure all clients are receiving the very best service whilst remaining calm and in control
  • In depth understanding of digital media and ad operations (website, social and email) to work closely with internal Ad Tech and Ad Op teams
  • Proficient understanding of Google Suite
  • Understand the print production process and have previous experience in managing creative and media agencies
  • Proficient in media planning and can create digital media schedules 

Desirable experience for this role:

  • Five years’+ experience in a hands-on role in a marketing discipline (e.g. marketing and insights, performance marketing, digital journalism, content marketing, social media, SEO, strategy/research etc)
  • Setting, managing and meeting multiple timelines  
  • Exceptional communication skills acting as a trusted advisor to understand your clients objectives and business challenges  to be able to respond to their needs in a timely manner
  • Extensive experience writing in a professional context including formats such as presentations, sales pitches, reports, strategy documents and social media content
  • Experience in content making and production across various formats and channels
  • Ability to develop proactive and innovative content concepts for multiple suppliers or partners for owned and paid media channels
  • Leading client or stakeholder-facing activities like meetings and presentations, including researching and preparing materials for those activities
  • High level of experience supporting client leads, partnership managers or commercial teams in the development of marketing materials or new business materials
  • Some experience working with multiple brands or projects briefed by clients, either by working in an agency or consultancy or with commercial teams at a media publisher
  • Previous experience participating in or facilitating workshops with other team members, clients, stakeholders or customers
