Public Relations Intern

Want to gain hands on experience in an agency doing progressive, life-changing, environment-saving work every single day? Come and join us – a group of high-performance communications, PR and social media people at The Bravery.

We work exclusively in purpose, environmental, sustainability and social cause sectors, across consumer, business and government audiences with clients from large national brands, not-for-profits (large and small), government entities (from local to federal), and small to medium size businesses.

The PR and Social Media Intern is a valued member of The Bravery team. The Intern will learn useful practical skills that will see them well placed to become a junior communications support person in the industry at-large. Upon completing their internship the Intern will be able to demonstrate proficiency in completing the following activities:

·      Updating internal social media channels

·      Maintaining and building media and influencer lists

·      Monitoring media coverage and reporting for client purposes

·      Daily research and media scans or content relating to agency accounts; providing insights to team members

·      Media outreach to obtain media coverage (with support / mentoring from team)

·      Participating in agency brainstorming sessions

·      General office tasks such as taking notes in meeting, answering the phone etc


Qualifications and personality: 

·      Applicants who are currently completing their third or final year of a public relations, communications or journalism degree are encouraged to apply

·      Must be available a minimum of two consecutive days per week, ideally for a three month period (negotiable)

·      Knowledge of the media industry and communications disciplines

·      Experience with MS / MAC Office

·      Excellent oral and written communication skills

·      Interest in learning and strong desire to increase professional skills

·      Interest in helping to promote positive environmental and social change

  • Equipment, including laptop and stationary supplied
  • References, CV review and employment mentoring provided, upon completion of internship
  • The Bravery provides remuneration in line with industry guidelines
