We are in search of an exceptional Digital Marketing and Communications expert to lead the communication strategy and implementation for the overarching Merivale brand and 80+ venues in the groups rapidly growing hospitality portfolio.

The Role

This is a newly created role, there is enormous opportunity for the right candidate to bring a fresh and innovative approach to Merivale’s hospitality & entertainment marketing, overseeing the customer journey end-to-end and collaborating closely with all stakeholders to enhance the overall guest experience across all touchpoints.

As the Head of Digital and Communications, you will take ownership of Merivale’s entire marketing channel ecosystem (owned, earned & paid). Achieving both commercial and brand objectives through highly effective and results driven campaigns and communication initiatives; while monitoring, interpreting and communicating analytic data and insights to optimise business performance.

You will be responsible for a growing team of channel specialists which you will have an opportunity to shape, inspire continuous improvement through great leadership and mentorship, not being afraid to be hands-on and lead by example in a fast-moving environment.

The Requirements

As the ideal candidate for this role, you have:

  • Built your Digital and Comms experience in a similar multi-faceted and fast paced in-house role.
  • Previous experience within a B2C agency and relevant tertiary education would be highly valued.
  • You are an inspirational people and thought leader with experience in shaping and managing high performing teams.
  • A strong track record in designing and delivering best in class marketing campaigns and delivering projects.
  • Experience designing and implementing a loyalty program
  • Built deep expertise on all key digital tools and platforms driving strong commercial outcomes.
  • Experience in buying on and offline media is essential.

Your success will come from quickly building a true understanding of our business, establishing a robust Digital and Comms strategy that is aligned to overall marketing objectives and getting buy-in from senior business stakeholders. Your challenge will be to balance time for strategy and execution and prioritise activities that have impact. You’ll need to be influential, solution focused with commercial acumen, operate with a sense of urgency and be calm under pressure.
