General Manager – Content Marketing

The role of the GM, Content Marketing is to develop and grow our content marketing offering.

Your position is one of the three crucial leadership positions within the company, with the other two being the general manager commercial core business and the general manager of events.

Together the three of you have full responsibility for running the core operations of the Misfits and delivering revenue and profit growth. As such, you will need to work closely to ensure the smooth running of the entire operation.

The content marketing general manager at the Misfits has to be a sales gun and commercially aware so as to capitalise on opportunities to generate revenue and profit. However this is a big role and you will not be able to excel in it without a highly effective team and buy in from your colleagues.

You will therefore need to be an inspirational leader and hire, manage and coach a sales team of individuals who are commercially aware, persuasive communicators, resilient and highly organised.

While your role is about making money, we operate in a small universe so ensuring your clients (and also those of your direct reports) are provided with good value for their marketing dollars is imperative. You must always have a foot in both camps of maximising revenue and ensuring good outcomes for your clients.

Reporting is a crucial part of your role. You need to be able to articulate to the business owners the opportunities you see across the business and flag potential revenue shortfalls in a sufficiently timely manner to mitigate future losses and suggest alternative revenue making and cost saving initiatives.
