  • Salary between $65k – $80k, depending on experience

The company

Keep Left is a marketing communications agency that takes a data-driven, audience-led approach to communications.  With a team of 35 people across Melbourne and Sydney, Keep Left operates four business units: Insights + Strategy, Creative, Digital + Experience and Public Relations.

We’re an award-winning, independent agency with an excellent reputation.  The Keep Left culture has an emphasis on collaboration, pushing boundaries and watching each other’s backs.  Our work environment is busy but happy and healthy with lots of employee perks on offer.

The role

Keep Left is seeking an experienced copywriter to be the go-to editorial wordsmith across the agency.  The scope of this role includes:

  • Op-eds and opinion pieces
  • White papers
  • Reports
  • Thought leadership pieces

You will be working with a broad range of leading property, technology, finance clients as well as companies in the media and marketing sector and consumer brands. As part of the creative department – but servicing the public relations and content marketing parts of the business – this role requires someone who can adapt their style and work to fit a smorgasbord of different voices.

Previous experience writing opinion pieces, blogs and thought leadership across print and digital channels would be advantageous, as would evidence of report and white paper work. Strong organisational skills and an understanding of SEO keyword integration will also be highly regarded.

The salary range for this role is $65K – $80K pro rata based on experience and track-record.

The person

We are looking for someone who is intelligent, has creative flair and a curious mind that can channel a brand voice accurately.  Ideally you would have 3-6 years’ experience in the industry, preferably with a strong understanding of journalism and the Australian media landscape. Experience ghost-writing on behalf of CEOs and senior stakeholders is essential, as is experience writing in a B2B context.

You’ll have a hunger to be part of a growing creative team that’s making waves. While your skills and experience are important, a positive attitude and glass-half-full attitude is also what we’re looking for. Prior creative agency or newsroom experience will be highly regarded.

Experience interpreting data to inform the direction of the content you produce will be highly regarded as will a track-record of evaluating the performance of this content online (web/social).  We are ideally looking for someone who not only wants to produce great content, but also wants to see it perform as well as possible in the Australian media.

Please send your CV and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience to 21st February 2020.
