Business moves quickly. And marketing needs to move even faster. So, SPEED is an independent media agency that has been built to help dynamic marketers identify the most efficient route to growth.  

To do this we deliver fast, innovative, and qualified media solutions to business problems. This means being truly data driven, using adaptive planning techniques, developing flexible partnership models and leveraging an ever-changing suite of technology. In a world driven by predictable solutions, annual deals, aggregated spends and enforced technology, this is a genuinely unique place to be.

The best solutions sit at the intersection between data / analytics and communications strategy. Not one before the other, but both working simultaneously. Each Managing Partner leads each area; Duncan Parfitt data analytics and Ian Perrin communications strategy.

What are we looking for?

We have grown very quickly from 1 person at the start of 2020 to 15 people now, which represents almost a new hire every month. We have achieved this through a large number of new business wins, and they fall mainly into three camps:

  1. Strategy only projects: Dulux, Microsoft, Uber Eats, Frucor
  2. Analytics and performance media: B&D, Memories, Lanyana Financial Group
  3. Full-service media: Betfair, Voyages, Sydney Water, Seafood Industry, Palmers, Wisr, Paspaley

We have been successful by providing direct expertise to subject matter experts, but we are now in a position where we need to have a strong client manager to look after (some of) the clients who sit in the third bucket above.

We have a completely flexible working environment, where our staff can make their own decisions as to when and where they want to come into the office.

The role? 

Reporting into the Managing Partner the individual will own responsibility for day-to-day client
service at a high level, account management, content partnership projects, offline implementation and optimisation on a number of client accounts.  You will know the client’s business inside and out and understand their key challenges. You will think creatively and be driven by day-to-day implementation, execution and optimisations. Working collaboratively across the agency you must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with an entrepreneurial spirit and creative curiosity. 



  • Responds to all client requests in a timely and accurate manner
  • Lead key media & client meetings and ensure accurate contact reports are issues within 24 hours
  • Organise and lead internal & external WIP meetings and ensure WIP documents are up-to-date and distributed appropriately. Understand the exact status of each project at all times.
  • Develop effective workflow across the agency to meet all deadlines and ensure appropriate talent / skills are applied to meet client needs
  • Organise and manage all aspects of planning and implementation, including timelines, budgets, briefing process and accuracy of final deliverables.
  • Ensure 100% adherence to budgets at all times.
  • Prepare emails, recommendations, and presentations to internal teams and clients 
  • Nurture strong client relationships, driving client satisfaction, and sustained YOY client retention.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of your clients’ business and competitors, demonstrating a passion for their brand and industry.
  • Develop and maintain productive, open and honest relationships with key client contacts.
  • Develop excellent presentation skills for both internal purposes and for client.
  • Evaluation of media proposals, drawing on the skills of other team members as required.
  • Apply expertise to partnership processes, driving successful outcomes.
  • Own the quality and accuracy of all media plans & recommendations. 
  • Where high level strategic recommendations are not required, you will be able produce implementation recommendations that cover the appropriate media partner selection with accompanying rationale, implementation ideas, budget, goals and measurement (online metrics, R&F, TARPs, etc.) for all campaigns 
  • Be responsible for the process of tracking, optimisation and delivery to client and/or agencies.
  • Support the Investment teams in preparing and delivering post campaign analyses to clients in a timely manner, including clear articulation of learnings and actionable insights. 


  • Displays ownership of the entire planning & implementation process from start to finish, championing deadlines both internally and externally
  • Be proactive in developing new ideas and processes for delivering outstanding service for our clients
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration with the wider agency and agency partners
  • Contributes to the planning & brainstorming process, working with Strategy and Investment disciplines to ensure ideas / campaigns are bought to life and remain true to the strategic direction.
  • Participates in SPEED School and other agency training initiatives
  • Seeks out MFA 5+ opportunities and other industry training programmes to further industry knowledge.


  • Proven experience (5+ years) working in media agencies, with a minimum of 2 years in client service roles.
  • Working knowledge of standard media tools including Nielsen AQX, Roy Morgan, etc
  • Experience in developing and executing large scale cross-channel (offline & online) marketing campaigns, including experience planning for national brands.
  • Robust knowledge of media planning and buying strategies/tactics across brand, direct response and engagement.
  • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
  • Ability to synthesise data, make data-driven decisions and balance that with the ‘art’ of media strategy.
  • Exceptional skills at developing and maintaining valuable client relationships.
  • Self-motivated and strong collaborator.
