Though Sydney is locked in for two weeks of press conferences due to the COVID outbreak, it’s unlikely that any will be as bizarre as Monday morning’s.

As broadcast by Nine, the first report of the morning came from NSW police commissioner Mick Fuller’s tale of two men who were sunbathing nude and then apparently got scared by a deer and hightailed it into the bush.

They then had to be rescued by the police and SES, AND were fined $1000 each for breaching Sydney’s COVID public health orders.

A lesson there for anyone planning on doing some cheeky sunbathing.

🦌🍆🍑 TFW you and your mate sunbake naked on a beach, get startled by a deer, run into a national park and get lost, require SES and police assistance, and then get fined $1000 each because you breached Sydney's COVID public health orders pic.twitter.com/U9q0ZD6oVM

Then, Fuller was interrupted by a man claiming to be Jesus. The bearded man is heard saying “I am the creator of this earth” as Fuller says “don’t come near me.”

The event was broadcast on ABC News, where presenter Joe O’Brien could be seen frantically motioning for the cameras to cut away from the man.

One can only imagine what will happen in Tuesday’s press conference, though hopefully the warning to stay away from wildlife while naked is heeded by the rest of Sydney’s population.
