Neighbours actor Ryan Moloney aka Toadie launched into a tirade against The Logies for failing to give Neighbours a worthy send-off!
Nine’s 62nd Logies Awards coverage has been eclipsed by Lisa Wilkinsons Logies speech now becoming a legal saga, however, Moloney may have stolen the spotlight back after hitting the airwaves to share his feeling about TV’s night of nights.
The actor appeared on 2Day FM’s Hughesy, Ed and Erin Breakfast radio show and unleashed on the Awards show. Yes, Toadie was not happy.
News.com.au reported that he said: “We (Neighbours cast) turned up, and we did our mandatory three-hour talking to people on the red carpet. When we got in the room we ended up being split up and stuck on two different tables, it was horrible!
“Our table was actually even stuck behind the cameras, we couldn’t even see the stage. So we figured we weren’t going to get a gig then.”
Moloney’s unhappiness didn’t end there he also took umbrage with former Neighbours stars Daniel MacPherson and Natalie Bassingthwaighte being chosen to represent the current cast on stage.
He said: “Daniel and Nat are just absolutely gorgeous people and absolutely nothing against them, but we’ve got people who have been on TV for nearly 30 years each, and I think probably the least they could do is get us to say something. I mean we’re in the bloody Hall of Fame, that’s not how you treat a show that’s in the Hall of Fame. I mean good luck to the Logies really.
“If it’s any indication, the In Memoriam section. I mean half the people in that have worked on Neighbours. They got a better guernsey than we did,” he said.
Moloney, who’s been on the show since the early 90s went on to reveal that Seven’s Home And Away cast actually went up to Neighbours cast at The Logies to offer their sympathies.
“The cast of Home and Away came up afterwards and said how sorry they were that we got (snubbed),” he explained.
Honestly, it’s always quite amazing when a star actually says what they really think and Moloney went hell for leather! I guess, you can always count on Toadie to voice his truth.
We asked Ryan Moloney (aka Toadie from Neighbours) what word he would pick if he could only use one for the rest of his life and he gave us two VERY different answers. pic.twitter.com/lnx0fYo90p
