Is social clout all its cracked up to be?

Being a social media influencer can give you an edge while in the market for a new job, but it can also turn off nervous employers who are happy with the current status-quo.

Social media skills are a must for marketers today but having too much influence could be a “double-edged sword”, according to Forbes.

“Some employers are wary of hiring influencers, both because they tend to challenge the status quo and because they may put their personal brand ahead of their employers’ interests,” the piece said.

But KiteDesk’s Top 40 most influential marketers believe if you lead by example, set the stage for a social business and take a step back, that socially savvy hires can prove to be business savvy decisions.
