Internet Video Maestro Frank Chindamo Heads To Sydney For Video Secrets Seminar

Sydney’s business owners, brands, marketers, agencies, journalists, TV producers, film makers, gamers, musicians and YouTube creators keen to unlock internet stardom will get a serious helping hand at The Sydney Morning Herald’s Spectrum Now presented by ANZ next month.

X Media Lab, one of the world’s most acclaimed digital media events, is bringing Frank Chindamo, who teaches internet video at all four of Hollywood’s premier film schools and is one of the most awarded web video creators on the planet, to Sydney to present his one-day interactive Masterclass “Internet Stardom for Fans, Brands and Agencies” on Friday 13 March at the ABC in Ultimo as part of The Sydney Morning Herald’s Spectrum Now presented by ANZ festival.

“Right now there are 300 hours of video being uploaded to YouTube every minute, and it’s officially the world’s second largest search engine. Every single day we watch more than one billion videos on Facebook and one billion video loops on Vine.  Within 24 hours of Instagram announcing their 15 second video component, 5 million videos were uploaded, and just last month Twitter revealed that users can now capture, edit and share videos straight from the Twitter app.  In 2015, not having a web video strategy is bad for business.” said Megan Elliott, director of X Media Lab.

“This is a unique opportunity for Sydneysiders to learn the insider secrets of YouTube’s elite on how to create, produce, and monetise web video and webisode series’ and parlay internet video success into traditional media success, and vice versa.” said Frank Chindamo, professor at USC School of Cinematic Arts, UCLA, Chapman University and Emmerson College in Hollywood.

“We’ll analyse the origins, strategies, and salaries of gamer-gone-global PewDiePie, viral marketing genius CardoSystem Bluetooth Headsets, big brand BlendTech, small business owner GaryVee, beauty blogger Michelle Phan, band OK GO, LGBT activists ItGetsBetter, filmmaker Lucas Cruikshank, millionaire newsmakers The Young Turks, and meme Grumpy Cat.”

“You’ll learn how to create, produce, and monetize a successful web video idea or video series; and for branded content, or content brands,” he said.

Participants are able to submit their own projects or ideas to be selected, discussed, developed and brainstormed directly with Frank Chindamo.

Frank will also be joined by a yet to be revealed list of Australia’s top YouTube talent and internet stars.
