Instagram Showcases Aussie Community Members To Celebrate 9 Million Monthly Milestone

Instagram is celebrating its milestone of growing to 9 million monthly active users in Australia by showcasing nine inspiring Australian-based community members who are making a positive impact on the world, promoting self-expression, body positivity and building global communities through the platform.

The Plate Project

With the tag line ‘Life’s too short to eat boring’, the Plate Project’s Instagram is anything but, showcasing the very best food across Australia.

Lazy Girl Fit

Sydney-based personal trainer Jess Robinson has created her personal brand with an aim to make fitness and health more accessible for everyone. She uses her Instagram account to post images of her working out, motivational quotes and food inspiration.

DJ Tiger Lily

DJ Tiger Lily is an Australian-based DJ and music producer who travels the world on tour. Voted Australia’s favourite female DJ three times, DJ Tiger Lily built her brand using Instagram to engage with her fans.

Polka Dot Passport

The 23-year-old photographer, Nicola, funds her passion for travel by working casual jobs before jet-setting around the world taking her followers on the journey with her.

The Design Files

The Design Files is a lifestyle blog set up by stylist and set dresser Lucy Feaggins in 2008, and within a year had been named in UK’s The Times’ top 50 design blogs in the world.

Leandra M Cohen

Founder of the blog Man Repeller, Cohen is the voice of the Millennial female. Heralded as a global community, Man Repeller speaks smartly and honestly with a satirical undertone.

Brown Cardigan

Brown Cardigan is a comedic Instagram channel that provides news to followers through images and memes. Born in Sydney, the account quickly became a much-loved Aussie meme account.

Monday Swimwear

Monday Swimwear is a swimwear brand thought up by Australian business women Tash Oakley and Devin Brugman. What started out as a blog featuring their favourite swimwear is now a global business.
