HOYTS has partnered with Qantas to give the airline’s Frequent Flyer members their first opportunity to use Qantas Points at the checkout simply by scanning their membership card.
Qantas Frequent Flyer members can use as few as 4,000 Qantas Points to get $20 off each transaction of tickets or candy bar treats at the cinema and online.
When they’re not using their points, Qantas Frequent Flyer members can earn Qantas Points on tickets and treats by joining HOYTS Rewards and adding their Qantas Frequent Flyer number to their account:
HOYTS Rewards Bronze members earn one Qantas Point per $2 spent (with no joining fee), while Silver members receive two Qantas Points per $1 spent (with a $13 joining fee or 2,600 Qantas Points).
Qantas Loyalty CEO Lesley Grant said the new partnership is an exciting and easy way for the program’s 11.8 million members to use their points for their entertainment.
“We’re all used to scanning our debit or credit cards to make payments at the checkout, so it makes sense that Qantas Frequent Flyers want to use their membership cards in the same way,” he said.
“Going to the movies is a popular activity among our members, so partnering with HOYTS to let them simply scan their card at the counter and redeem their points for movie tickets or treats will make their cinema experience not only fun, but great value.”
Stephanie Mills, general manager of marketing and content at HOYTS, said: “Australia’s largest airline loyalty program partnering with Australia’s most innovative cinema brand, offering fully re-seated cinemas with powered recliners, is an incredibly exciting moment.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Qantas Frequent Flyer on the redemption of Qantas Points in our cinemas and are equally excited to be able to offer our HOYTS Rewards members even more value on their membership by giving them the opportunity to both earn and redeem Qantas Points when visiting HOYTS.”
HOYTS is now the exclusive movies partner for the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.
