Reckitt has today confirmed the appointment of Holly McCarthy as the company’s new marketing director for Australia and New Zealand, overseeing the consumer healthcare portfolio.
McCarthy joins from within Reckitt, where she’s held various roles around the globe for almost a decade, most recently spearheading growth and expansion for the company’s infant nutrition brand, Enfa, as global brand marketing director.
Prior to this, McCarthy had a raft of experience across the company’s healthcare and hygiene categories, working for several brands in global and UK/Europe-based roles.
McCarthy is passionate about purpose-driven brands and how they can improve consumers’ lives every day.
She said she is excited to return to Australia and put her skills to use with the existing energetic Reckitt Health team.
“I haven’t had the chance to work at Reckitt in Australia. I am delighted to come home and engage with such an amazing suite of brands in a market I know and love,” she said.
“I look forward to working with the experienced brand team to continue to make an impact in the market through the likes of Dettol, Nurofen and Durex.
“What I love the most about Reckitt is the opportunity for personal growth afforded to employees. In my 10 years, I’ve had a wide range of roles and opportunities to develop teams that have gone on to achieve amazing things.
“Linked to that is the ownership- driven culture where we, as a team, can achieve great success through collaboration. I can already see this is well-embedded in our Sydney team, and I’m looking forward to re- learning the local way of things to champion my employees to grow alongside our brands.”
The Reckitt health brand teams have most recently delivered such purpose campaigns as the Nurofen sponsorship of emergency helicopter not-for-profit, CareFlight, the distribution of over 2million Dettol instant hand sanitiser and wipe products to over 75 charities in need during the pandemic and the Durex #Erectometer Vax Climax awareness campaign.
Reckitt Health ANZ regional director, David Rankine, said he was thrilled to have another Reckitt team member with a long history in the business join the leadership team.
“We are particularly proud of the culture we’ve built across Reckitt Health in recent years, and we’re looking forward to Holly injecting her expertise and love for our brands into the team,” he added.
McCarthy returned to Australia on January 29 with her partner and two young kids, enjoying this time reconnecting with family in person.
She commenced work for Reckitt ANZ the very next Monday, replacing Henry Turgoose, who was promoted to global category director for Mucinex and Delsym, expanding the health business for Reckitt in the United States.
