Hill + Knowlton Strategies & Colloquial Find New Leader Within WPP AUNZ

H+K Strategies Australia (H+K) has named seasoned communications leader Mandy Galmes as CEO and has added the management of its sister content marketing agency Colloquial, a joint venture between J. Walter Thompson and H+K strategies, to her remit.

Galmes joins from WPP AUNZ sister company, Sibling where she was the MD for almost two years heading up the Scentre Group integrated work.

WPP AUNZ PR and PA CEO Kieran Moore said the appointment marked the end of an extensive search to find the right leader for the business, following the decision by former H+K MD Penny Holloway to move to northern NSW for a sea change.

“Mandy brings that unique mix of capabilities that we have been looking for in the next H+K Strategies and Colloquial leader, with a magical blend of business acumen and communications skills that stretch across sectors, channels and regions. With extensive and proven agency leadership experience, Mandy is known for growing teams, cultures, clients and businesses.  We’re excited that she’s made this move.

“There is a tonne of complementary skills and capabilities in the two businesses that Mandy will manage.  Her new 30 strong team will be a great communications force in the marketplace.

Prior to joining Sibling, Galmes was co-founder and managing director of independent communications consultancy Fuel Communications.

As a result of Galmes’ new appointment, Sibling’s Sarah Hazen will head up the Sibling team and will report into Y&R CEO Peter Bosilkovski.

H+K, Colloquial, Sibling, J. Walter Thompson and Y&R are part of WPP AUNZ, Australasia’s leading marketing communications group.
