Industry icon Helga Diamond, head of of Miami Ad School Australia (mad), has announced her retirement after years of being a highly regarded and beloved industry mentor.
Diamond announced her retirement on Linkedin, where she wrote, “Friends, alumni, esteemed teachers and colleagues: I’m retired. Thank you all who contributed, instructors and students alike.”
“You helped create a strong brand down under and made it fun on the way. Succession enquiries welcome. Required: a whole lotta love.”
Diamond was the head of MAD, a creative school that nurtures young industry talent and helps new creatives become who they are meant to be. It’s seen as a supportive and exciting place for creatives to get their start and find their feet!
Diamond spent thirteen years at Advertising Council Australia before joining MAD and has since dedicated her career to nurturing young talent and helping them find their way. She is known for being as enthusiastic about the industry, as she was when she first entered a rarity.
Diamond is also known as a brilliant friend, thoughtful mentor and a voice of kindness in the ever-evolving industry. Her enthusiasm and endless knowledge will be missed. She has been described as a ‘big sister’ to anyone in the industry who needs a helping hand.
Damond is currently looking for someone to take over MAD.
