Reddit has birthed what could very well be the winner of the triple j Hottest 100, with a savvy Redditor crunching tracks on Spotify.
Reddit user JJJSurvivorFan39 has been hard at work creating a draft list of the top 200 songs that have occurred in Spotify users’ Hottest 100 shortlists.
Coming in at top spot on the list is Glass Animals’ ‘Heat Waves’, followed by Stace Cadet and KLP’s ‘Energy’, Eves Karydas’ ‘Complicated’, G Flip’s ‘Hyperfine’, and The Jungle Giants’ ‘Sending Me Ur Loving’.
She, or he, told Reddit that this meant scouring around 2000 playlists to pull together a list. It’s the second time this year they’ve released their findings, with the first back in July.
However, as u/JJJSurvivorFan39 told the triple j subreddit: “For me personally I take this list with a grain of salt and rather a way to see what songs are popular half way through the year to greater my knowledge of triple j 2020. Here are the results, enjoy 🙂
“Also heaps of surprises in here. Would be crazy if this was the real thing!”
Here’s how the top 20 plays out.
