Those attempting to sneak out products from UK luxury lifestyle store Harvey Nichols found themselves as the protagonists in the company’s latest advertising campaign.
The one minute, forty second spot features CCTV footage of shoplifters sneakily swiping away, and then being caught in the act.
The faces of the guilty have been obscured by hilarious cartoon heads to protect the identity.
The clip, created by agency Adam&Eve/DDB, ends by asking ‘Want Freebies? Get them legally’.
The spot was released to promote the brand’s new rewards app. Yahoo News in the UK, the group marketing director of Harvey Nichols, Shadi Halliwell, said: “We wanted to create a campaign which plays on the universal truth that everybody loves a freebie.
“By downloading ‘Rewards by Harvey Nichols’, our customers are sure to be spoilt, the legal way, with fabulously stylish treats.”
On the YouTube video description Harvey Nichols said: “Using security footage taken from our stores, watch some of our cheeky visitors attempt to abscond with the latest must-have items. Faces have been obscured to protect the guilty. If only they realised there was a better way to get a freebie (and legally too)…”
