European DIY chain Hornbach is known for its pretty kooky advertising and its latest efforts are right up there with its best work.
The new spot, titled “It seems impossible. Until you do it”, shows a home handyman albeit in micro size and aims to highlight how DIY projects can seem overwhelming when they need not be.
It’s the work of German creative agency HEIMAT Berlin and was directed by famed music video maker Tom Kuntz and cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema whose film credits include Dunkirk (which got him an Oscar nomination), Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and the James Bond film Spectre.
Commenting on the new work, Hornbach’s brand manager Thomas Schnaitmann said: “The positive power that is generated by completing a project has never been as valuable as it is right now. That sense of achievement after having created something with your own hands is enduring and emboldens people to take on further challenges.”
