Guvera Wins International Gold At Design100 Global [app] Awards

Australia’s revolutionary global music streaming service Guvera has won Gold at the 2016 Design100 World [app] design awards in the entertainment and leisure category.

This is the second time Guvera has won the prestigious award, which celebrates global creativity, courage and innovation in mobile app design achievements by both app creators and commissioners.

Chief technology officer of Guvera, Damien King, said Guvera is focused on providing music through a brand-funded model where both music labels and artists are properly rewarded.

“This award, our second from the Design100, recognises our multi-skilled, global team who are working at the intersection of tech innovation, music and brands,” he said.

“It also provides us with an excellent opportunity to showcase our product to the mobile industry and achieve marketplace recognition for our advances in innovations that transform the way our users listen to and experience music.”

King said brands are central to Guvera’s proposition and our mission from the very beginning was to be the global leader in brand-funded music and entertainment.

“Guvera was founded in 2008 with the single-minded purpose of providing a sustainable solution to combat the rampant piracy that was plaguing the global music industry,” King said.

“We offer an immersive and genuinely engaging entertainment experience through our unique brand channel environment.

“Through commercial collaboration with brands, we design tailor-made solutions to grow their business and deliver a music experience that fans genuinely enjoy and that artists actually benefit from.”

The App Awards rating process is lead by the Design100 advisory panel, a group of over 150 global design experts. The awards are not based on popularity, but purely based on merit in the field. Panel members are recognised voices in the design economy sourced from leading studios, industry bodies and design commissioners.

Design100 founder, Mark Bergin, said Guvera’s win illustrates its strengths in a dynamic music streaming landscape.

“Guvera clearly shows how being #DRIVENxDESIGN helps deliver their customer new experiences and services,” Bergin said.

“Guvera keeps growing in sophistication, capability and user experience.”
