We’ve all seen it, half-times at sporting events where some sucker is pulled out of the crowd to do an impossible stunt that typically ends in embarrassment for them and great mirth for everyone else in the stands.
And when Mississippi’s Cannon Motors offered up a brand new Nissan Altima for anyone who could sink a 28-metre putt during a halftime promotion at the Alabama Crimson Tide-Ole Miss Rebel basketball game it probably thought it was on a safe bet when 84-year-old, Mary Ann Wakefield, took hold of the putter.
But far from it. The grandmother of seven absolutely nailed the putt and took home the Nissan valued at $A25,000 ($A37,800).
The crowd went utterly ballistic as Mary Ann cops a congratulatory hug from Ole Miss Rebel’s mascot, Tony the Landshark. Check out the good news story below:
