Former Big Mobile CEO Graham Christie has resurfaced as chief commercial officer for Slingshot Accelerator.
Slingshot works with leading corporates, including Qantas, SEEK, Hudson, and HCF, among others, to run targeted startup accelerator programs.
In this role, Christie will advise leading corporates on how they can leverage accelerator programs and structured collaboration with technology startups and scaleups to execute on innovation and transformation strategies.
“There are few more interesting intersections today than where and how the corporate world connects with the Startup and Scaleup world. Both are in the same ‘galaxy’, but often, just not close enough. Slingshot focuses on creating real ROI, with commercial and investment outcomes that puts brand owners in front of the disruption curve,” said Christie.
Christie has more than 25 years’ experience in B2C and B2B technology, media, telecoms, publishing and monetisation, and digital brand development. He held several senior positions at Vodafone Australia, launching and establishing the content and publishing business Vodafone live!, and serving as head of strategy for mobile marketing and advertising.
In 2009, Christie co-founded multi award-winning mobile marketing company Big Mobile and led the business’ expansion across Southeast Asia. He also served as the inaugural Chair of the IAB Mobile Council and is currently a board member of the Asia-Pacific Mobile Marketing Association (MMA).
“Having driven innovation from within large corporates and shaped a marketplace with my own company as a Startup founder, I look forward to the opportunity to advise and support leading businesses with an appetite to find world-class technologies with which to partner or invest.”
Karen Lawson, CEO of Slingshot added, “We are building an experienced team that can bridge the gap between Corporates and Startups. Graham will bring a lot of expertise in helping organisations unlock value by working with innovative and agile Startups and facilitating collaboration that drives real business results,”
