Befuddled Goose Smashes Into Scoreboard During Live Baseball Telecast

A goose has literally crashed a Major League Baseball game between the Detroit Tigers and LA Angels on Wednesday.

The large bird wandered onto the playing surface during a rain delay in the sixth innings.

Ground staff then attempted to shoo the uninvited spectator all to the delight of the increasingly restless spectators.

Sadly, however, all the attention unnerved Mr Goosey, who took flight only to careen into a scoreboard and plummet some 20 metres into the stands, narrowly missing a spectator’s head.

But fear not, the goose survived and spectators were informed (somewhat ironically) via the scoreboard that he was okay.

Check out the feathery calamity below:

Still, it’s not the first time a bird has met their comeuppance at a baseball match. In 2001, Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Randy Johnson managed to obliterate a passing dove with a pitch all caught on the TV cameras (and B&T does warn, this video may unsettle some readers).
