As you would no doubt know, the world hasn’t stopped talking about the US Presidential Election for the past week.

With a result now (seemingly) secured after hanging in the balance for a number of days, Google has released new data highlighting how Americans dealt with the stressful week.

Google Trends revealed a rise in searches for “pizza,” “Chinese food,” “liquor stores,” “sushi,” and “Mexican food” near users.

However, it seems there were two standout items for worried Americans.

Fries near me” and “liquor store near me” were both at all-time highs for search entries in the United States.

Apart from trying to find comfort food and booze, Google’s data also shows that people were on the hunt for bargains and special deals associated with the election.

“Free stuff with I voted sticker”  and “Election Day deals” both emerged as breakout searches.

As proof of the global significance of the election, the following searches all were trending last week.

  1. 2020 年 美国 总统 选举 (Chinese for “2020 US Presidential election”)
  2. Amerika seçimleri kim önde (Turkish for “Who is ahead of America elections?”)
  3. انتخابات ریاست جمهوری امریکا ترامپ (Persian for “Trump Presidential Election”)
  4. US elections 2020 live
  5. Wahlen USA stand (German for “USA election standings”)
