Tourism PR agency GTI Tourism, has been appointed as the Australian representative for Global Vision International, a social enterprise supporting critical conservation and community development projects around the world.

As Global Vision International’s (GVI) public relations agency in Australia, GTI Tourism will position the organisation as a world leader in voluntourism and, drive awareness of the vast range of volunteer projects and internship programs it offers through a creative and impactful public relations strategy.

GTI Tourism founder and managing director, Sarah Anderson said GTI Tourism is thrilled to be representing GVI after a competitive pitch.

“GTI Tourism has a strong stable of clients with a sustainability focus and we feel that it’s a real privilege to work with companies like GVI that make such a positive impact to communities and people around the world,” Ms Anderson said.

“GVI is already well known and respected globally for the fantastic, ongoing work it does in areas of health, construction, environment and community and we’re thrilled to be given the opportunity to raise its profile in the Australian market.”

GVI’s chief executive, Steve Gwenin, said the company is excited to work with GTI Tourism to raise further awareness of the importance of ethical volunteering.

“GVI believes in the importance of volunteering and works incredibly hard to ensure projects are successfully developed and managed to ensure the benefits directly impact the local community and environment, and that our volunteers are well supported.” Steve said.

“We know GTI Tourism shares our passion for responsible voluntourism and we are confident, with its team’s knowledge of the Australian media and marketplace, that this partnership will be a successful one.”

GVI volunteers can choose to take part in a wide range of different volunteer options; working in wildlife conservation with lions in South Africa or elephants in Thailand; marine conservation in Seychelles or Fiji; healthcare in Nepal; and childcare in places like India. Program durations range from one week to one year.

GTI Tourism won the PR contract after a competitive pitch and this is the organisation’s sixth new business win since the start of the year.
