With The 3% Conference Australasia fast-approaching, Sydney’s Amicus Digital claims it has turned unprecedented gender equality in the martech industry into exponential growth in just over two years.
Founded around the kitchen table in 2015 by Jessie Mitchell and Blair Cooke, Amicus has been kicking goals in the Salesforce ecosystem, growing at 100 per cent year-on-year since foundation.
Easy enough off a low base, right? But Amicus has done it with a quality client list that would be the envy of any major digital agency or martech consultancy.
Among it’s many clients, Amicus lists www.domain.com.au, Roadshow, The Intrepid Group; Brown-Forman and Open Colleges.
Mitchell said all too often gender diversity does not extend to technical staff.
“There’s a massive shortage of technical marketing people right across the martech industry, but the number of women in technical positions is very low”, she said. “Well below three per cent.”
“We’ve focused hard on gender diversity, and today 50 per cent of our staff are women.
“We committed to gender equality from the very beginning because it makes good business sense, but we knew it wouldn’t be truly meaningful without equal representation at the technical-operational level.”
