Craft beer enthusiasts are being encouraged to vote to select the best-looking beer can of 2022 and help name the 2022 GABS Can Designs Golden Trophy Award winner.
In what has been touted as Australia’s biggest virtual can art gallery, voters can view over 150 beautifully curated works ranging from retro to ultra-modern to whimsical, mythology, cult classics and fantasy.
With so many great Aussie brewed craft beers of the highest quality now on retailer’s shelves, the outside canvas of a can has been quickly transformed from boring to brilliantly executed art as breweries look to make first impressions count and stand out against the opposition.
Defending champions are Victoria’s Stomping Ground Brewery. They cemented their place in the hall of fame with this stunning 60s abstract, psychedelic inspired design ‘Nectaron of the Gods’.
Voters will get to have a say in who takes out the 2022 GABS Can Designs Golden Trophy Award as they cast three votes to select the ten finalists, who then go on to be judged by a panel of some of the best talents in the country. All voters will be entered into a draw to win a share of the $5,000 prize pool with 100 lucky voters will take home a $50 voucher courtesy of Craft Cartel.
The poll is organised by the team behind the country’s premier craft beer event, GABS Craft Beer Festival, as well as the annual GABS Hottest 100™ Aussie Craft Beers poll.
GABS MD Mike Bray said: “We can’t wait for consumers to browse the virtual art gallery and select their favourite designs with voting open from 16th September to 2nd October. There are so many awards for great beer, it’s nice to also be able to shine a spotlight on the many talented designers and marketers across this highly creative industry.”
The awards are presented by Orora in association with Opal Speciality Packaging, Bintani, Craft Cartel Liquor and Brews News.
