Australian media executive Sharb Farjarmi has been named Wavemaker in the US’ new chief operating officer.
Farjarmi is returning to the GroupM fold having previously worked at Mindshare as its Australian operations’ chief operating officer between 2011 and 2014.
He worked as Foxtel’s director of content commercialisation when he quit in 2017 to take up the role of Storyful CEO in New York.
Announcing his move to Wavemaker, Farjarmi wrote on LinkedIn: “This week brings one journey to an end for me and sees another one begin.
“After many fantastic years with News Corp, and four years leading Storyful, it’s time to start a new chapter. Thank you to all the wonderful colleagues and friends I’ve met and made along the way and in particular the awesome people of Storyful. It was an honor to work with you and I wish you all huge success for the future.
“Today I’m excited to return to the GroupM family and start a new role as North America chief operating officer with Wavemaker, (Adweek Media Agency of the Year 2021). I can’t wait to meet the new team and do great things together,” he said.
