Former MediaCom Client Partner Nina Nguyen Reemerges At Menulog

Online food delivery service Menulog has hired former MediaCom agency client partner and strategist, Nina Nguyen, to lead its newly restructured restaurant partner division.

Nguyen joins Menulog following a contract role as strategic counsel to Val Morgan, prior to which she held agency roles for more than 15 years agency, most recently heading up Creative and Partnerships at MediaCom’s Beyond Advertising department whilst concurrently holding the role of Client Partner in the agency’s Sydney team.

Bringing a wealth of experience in running revenue-generating cross-functional teams alongside client portfolio management, as Head of Restaurant Partnerships, Nguyen will lead a team of more than 20 employees across Key Accounts, Account Management and Restaurant Success in Australia and New Zealand.

In this role, Nguyen will lead partnerships with major brands including McDonald’s, KFC, Hungry Jack’s, Oporto, Red Rooster, Pizza Hut, Guzman Y Gomez, Nandos, Grill’d, Mad Mex and more.

Menulog commercial director Rory Murphy said the new head of restaurant partnerships role comes at a pivotal time in Menulog’s growth and will assist the stepchange in restaurant-partner and Menulog business results.

“Menulog currently supports more than 21,000 restaurant partners across Australia and New Zealand and we continue to see this number grow at an increasing rate,” Murphy said.

“We have invested significantly in greater brand visibility, customer and restaurant experience, which has seen our now 15-year-old business continue to keep smashing records and driving more and more orders for our restaurant partners.

“Having Nina on board to lead our restaurant-facing teams will see greater focus on both driving exceptional results for independent partners and chains, but also to deliver greater solutions for new partners, be they in the restaurant sector or newer arenas for the Menulog brand, such as convenience, grocery and alcohol delivery.”

Nguyen said her expertise in stakeholder management and skill in developing strategic recommendations that consistently drove measurable business results for clients is what sets her in good stead for her new challenge at Menulog.

“A core focus for me coming into this role is about relationships. What I loved about the Menulog approach is their focus on being a true partner for businesses and developing online ordering and delivery solutions that are going to drive growth. For many years I have led teams of specialists that have delivered genuine business partnerships as trusted advisors and this is a skill I will bring to this new role,” she said.

“My background in media, including strategy, creative and content, channel management, sponsorship and events and more, gives me a broader experience to  be able to help drive both results for our partners and the Menulog business by driving pipeline, growing existing business, meeting commercial targets, stakeholder management and talent retention.

“I am exceptionally passionate about mentoring and coaching and  believe  this should make up more than  20 percent of your role as a leader in any organisation. I look forward to sharing my experience with the team and helping all employees grow and develop at Menulog.”

Nguyen officially joined Menulog on 27 July 2020.
